An easy way to find physicians working with Navigenics

imageSome people prefer shopping online, whether it’s a book, movie ticket or a genetic test that they’re seeking. Others would rather have more personal interaction and feel the most comfortable talking to a physician about anything even remotely related to their health.

With that in mind, Navigenics has made it much easier for consumers to find physicians who have been trained in integrating our genetic testing into their practice. We’ve just introduced a new “Find a physician” feature that enables customers to select from a growing list of physicians offering the Navigenics genetic testing services to patients.

Dozens of doctors are already ordering Navigenics genetic tests for their patients, helping them understand their genetic risk factors for common diseases and working with them to develop individualized prevention plans.

“Navigenics has determined through genetic testing the lifetime risk for developing different diseases. The use of this information is important for both prevention as well as vigilance for development of these conditions,” said Dr. Bernie Kaminetsky, medical director of the physician group MDVIP. “ We are extremely enthusiastic about the use of this information in our clinical prevention model.”

Don’t see your doctor or a doctor from your region included on our list yet? You can encourage your own physician to learn more about the services Navigenics provides by directing him or her to the physician section of our website. Navigenics would be happy to send your doctor an informational packet at no charge. Or you can download information for your doctor from our physician resources section.

Tell us what you think:  Do you think your doctor would be interested in learning more?  Has your doctor mentioned personalized genetic testing to you?

This feature is a great idea!  It will even be better when a physician in my area is listed.
